This chapter will provide clarity and suggest some signs to watch for to verify your deity connections. It must be stated that every deity is unique and connects according to your consciousness. For example, a god may communicate to someone familiar with Numerology through numbers. As the gods are everywhere and nowhere at the same time, they can interact on many levels. This information is critical. As humans, we tend to place limitations on people, places, and things. Deities, in many respects, are not bound by laws of limitation and lack.
That would be like comparing an ant to a human being. The ant can do many things but, its abilities pale in comparison to the capacity of man. This analogy is relevant and akin to the power of the gods. Here, it is recommended to have the mindset of infinite possibilities. What others deem as the impossible become regular experiences for you. Trust that there are powers within and outside of you that can make anything happen.
When you begin to work with your deities via an altar and give regular offerings and prayers, your life will change on many different levels. The following information will provide some common things to expect and look out for as you cultivate your relationship to the Divine. Remember, there is no limit to what can occur. As you go through the list below, keep in mind, the more you experience is directly related to the strength of the connection with the deities.
In contrast, if there are no changes or happenings in your life, you may want to select different deities and start over. Like any other relationship, sometimes we have to let someone go to allow room for new. Sometimes relationships do not work and we must move on to a new one. In this case, there is no need to worry about a deity being upset that you have ended the relationship. Emotions of anger, jealousy, and envy are human limitations.
Dreams Deities can appear in dreams in many forms. Dreams are a middle ground for physical reality and the Spirit World. Have you noticed dreams usually have no limitations? Anything goes in the dream world!
The gods can get a message to you in countless ways using the dream state. This example becomes a sign once you have linked with the god Tehuti, created an altar, and made regular offerings. Then, one may be aware that the baboon is a representation of the energy of Tehuti and receive the intended message. Tip - Keep a dream journal. Write down your dreams in a notebook or memo app. If you do not remember your dreams, log your emotions and state of mind upon awakening.
Inner Knowing Do you just know things? Are your hunches getting stronger? Are you having more intuitive thoughts? How do you feel about your deities and altar work?

Synchronicities A synchronicity is a meaningful coincidence.
When two or more things occur at different times and places that are of some importance to you, that is a synchronicity. After signs, synchronicities may be the most common phenomenon to occur.
Signs and synchronicities let us know we are moving in the right direction. A synchronicity can be seeing the name of a deity in two different places in peculiar ways or, any other meaningful, relative coincidences.
Tip - Keep track of your synchronicities as suggested for tips and dreams. Again, we increase are awareness by recording our experiences. Visions Visions are dreams while awake.
Close your eyes and imagine that you are in your childhood home. With enough time, you can visualize in great detail, the home you grew up in. This simple visualization is very similar to visions. A vision of a god or goddess can happen at any time but, is more than likely to occur during meditation. When you meditate, you tune out the external environment. This internal look at life expands consciousness and possibilities.
One of these possibilities is an interaction with a deity. Better Luck Luck can be defined with one short phrase, being at the right place at the right time. We have all experienced a time feeling a day late or a dollar short.
In these times, we feel unlucky. The gods have a way of increasing chances for success in all areas of life. Then, you feel like things just fall into place and everything seems to work out smoothly. This does not mean that there are not rough times.
It simply means the rough times are few and far between. Connecting with the gods affords us more energy to have at our disposal. This energy comes in the form of other people and things.

This is to be considered a sign and synchronicity as well as a resource from which you can benefit. Most of these cultures left statues, artwork, cave sketches, megaliths, and pyramids, just to name a few, to document their communication to and with the Heavens.
Working with deities will inspire new thoughts, ideas, and inventions as your creative juices will bubble with new ways to express. This adds to the visualization a chant-like mantra which is another representation of the energy of the connecting deity. After you feel relaxed and trancelike minutes , end the chant. You may try this exercise when looking for inspiration or, if you have a question about something. This is a real exercise, which means you get better with practice. Some people may experience highly illusionary visions and interactions with the gods.
Most will receive some new ideas, information, and thoughts. Everyone can become more in tune. Common Questions. This chapter is dedicated to common questions that have been received pertaining to altars and working with deities. Like anything else, this information is based off my personal research and experiences. In general, I recommend following your Spirit and allowing your intuition to guide you into the best possible situations to flourish and evolve. Can I mix deities from different cultures and pantheons on my altar?
Answer: My main deity altar has three deities. A god and goddess originating from Africa and a god from Asia. I have mixed cultures and pantheons ever since starting altar work.
Do I have to select deities that are from my culture or ethnicity? Answer: This is personal. Some of you may have to select based on your ethnicity because of where you live. Should I have at least one god and one goddess on my altar? Answer: I recommend that you have at least one of each; a god and goddess or male and female deity.
This has more to do with energy than gender. Balance is the union of the female and male principles. My religion teaches that there is only one god. Is this idol worshipping?
Answer: There is one Source of creation that many refer to as The Creator. It is common knowledge in most esoteric and occult studies that we are not able to understand something as infinite and omnipotent as The Creator. I do not have much room where I live to setup an altar. What can I do? Answer: An altar can be small and simple or, large and elaborate. You must accommodate your living space.
You can even erect an altar that is transportable. I am vegetarian. Do I have to give meat offerings? Answer: No. I highly recommend giving meat as often as possible, however.
According to the teachings of Master Dr. Mitchell Gibson, meat has condensed energy that the gods can use to make changes in your life. Remember, the ancestors and gods are not physically eating the food. This has more to do with energy. Answer: This is actually a complex question.
In general, as long as the offering is on the altar for a couple of hours or so, it should be fine to reach the Spirit world. Personally, I feel like the gods and ancestors consume the foods by way of the animals. The animals could be being energetically influenced by the Unseen to eat the offerings. Are statues or pictures better on altars? Answer: The deities know what we are capable of and can afford.
Obviously, statues are more expensive than pictures. If you are able to afford statues, then you may want to buy them. In general, the more you invest, the greater the return. What if my statue breaks or gets damaged? Answer: I do not recommend having damaged items on the altar. If you are able to glue back something small that is unnoticeable, this is fine. How long should I leave food on the altar? Answer: Replace the previous offer with the new one.
Idealistically, you should be giving a daily food offering. This new one will replace the old food. Items like fruits, nuts, seeds, and some meats and vegetables can stay on the altar longer. Do your best not to let food and flowers become spoiled on the altar. What do I do with the old offering food? Answer: Some people actually eat the offering. I always discard old offerings. This is a personal thing and you should do whatever feels right to you.
Where can I buy statues of deities? Answer: Most cities have a metaphysical, magic, or new age store. You can search your local directory for those keywords. Answer: You may ask for in the phrase of giving thanks for anything you wish. The key is to request people, places, and things that serve your highest good.
There is no moral code of ethics for petitioning the gods for something that you want including a new sports car, vacation, dream home, etc. The energies should reflect yourself on a deep level. For instance, there are gods that deal with death and the underworld. This is not necessarily good or bad but more of an actuality. Death is also symbolic of an end or completion.
This goes way beyond physical death because you can end a cycle of abuse, addiction, or other things to get rid of or stop. The best thing you can do is to read their myths and see if the energy deity resonates with you. How long before I know if I made a link? Answer: Some people get an immediate feedback or experience to confirm the linkage while others have to wait.
